Several everyday expenses use national or Manila-area price references and editorial allowances; they are not measured Cebu averages.
This is the calculator’s separate twelve-category model. The USD lifestyle tiers below use different assumptions. Open any category to inspect its source dates and limits before replacing it with your own quote.

Before paying for an apartment
Ask the agent for the deposit, advance rent, lease length, dues, utility billing rules, and refund terms in writing. For illustration only, a landlord requesting two months’ deposit and one month’s advance at this example’s rent would need ₱75,000.00 upfront. Those are hypothetical terms, not terms verified for this listing. Advance rent pays for a rental period; do not count that period twice.
Visit at the time you would normally commute. Test mobile reception inside the unit and confirm fiber service at the building. Use our apartment viewing checklist and Cebu city guide to compare locations.
Add the costs that belong to you
The healthcare line is a personal outpatient reserve, not hospital insurance. Add an individual insurance quote, flights, temporary lodging, visa costs, school fees, dependents, car ownership, and emergency savings where relevant. Electricity depends on air-conditioning use; the model uses a Manila utility reference, not a Cebu supplier tariff.
The total above stays in PHP. The calculator displays the date and source of its currency conversion. A bank or transfer service can give you a different rate after fees.
Worked example added September 15, 2026. Source observations are dated individually; adding this explanation did not reverify every price.
